Bishop Paul S. Morton Joins In Kick-Off Of "We Are Family" Superbowl Fest In North Miami

ATLANTA, GA (PRWeb) January 30, 2007 -- Bishop Paul S. Morton, Presiding Bishop of The Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, Inc. joins with recording artists Sister Sledge and other musical guests to kick-off the We Are Family Superbowl Fest (www.wearefamily.tv/fullgospel). Sponsored by NANAY (National Alliance to Nurture the Aged and Youth) and the City of North Miami in partnership with The Magic Johnson Foundation and Points of Light Foundation, the event will be held Saturday, February 3rd, from 11 am to 5 pm at the Museum of Co the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Plaza located at 770 NE 125 Street, North Miami.

Sister Sledge originally recorded "We Are Family" in 1979. After the devastating hurricanes in 2005, a group of today's hottest artists joined together to release a new version of the song. The CD of the new version which features artists like Pattie Labelle, George Clinton, Brian McKnight, Mary Mary, Bebe Winans and others is being released under the auspices of Points of Lights Foundation. "We are launching the We Are Family CD at the Super Bowl Fest to benefit displaced hurricane victims, and to support family strengthening and disaster preparedness all over the United States," says Robert Goodwin, President and CEO of Points of Light Foundation.

Bishop Morton, who has also experienced the devastation and displacement of Hurricane Katrina, remains an active supporter of its victors.

International Conference (www.fullgospelatl.com) scheduled for Atlanta, Georgia June 24 - 27, 2007, one of the events scheduled, the We Are Family Victory Concert will commemorate the second anniversary of Katrina and celebrate the ways that faith, family, and community have come together to lift up those who were affected by the disaster. A portion of the proceeds from the benefit conference in Atlanta would be donated to continue rebuilding efforts on the Gulf Coast. In addition, Bishop Morton and The Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship are offering the CD/DVD project online for purchase at www.wearefamily.tv/fullgospel.

In addition to his worldwide evangelistic ministry and pastor of Greater St. Stephens, Bishop Morton continues to spread the word of God through the "Changing a Generation" daily radio and weekly television broadcasts which air in several markets nationwide, including a nationally televised broadcast on Black Entertainment Television (BET) and Word Network. He has authored several books, including, "Why Kingdoms Fall," "The Enemy Inside Your Mind," "It's Time For the Outpouring," and "What is the Full Gospel Baptist Church." Bishop Morton is also a highly respected and world-renowned recording artist, nationally recognized for his solo CD entitled "Crescent of Fire," and was featured on the all-star recording of the hit song, "Something Inside So Strong" a tribute to Rosa Parks. In 2006, he released a tribute to Hurricane Katrina survivors entitled, "We're Still Standing."

Bishop Morton, a native of Windsor, Ontario Canada, moved to New Orleans where he was later installed as Pastor of the Greater St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church in 1975. Under Bishop Morton's inspirational leadership the ministry grew from 647 members to over 20,000, incorporating several seasonal institutes and revivals, numerous community outreach programs and over 60 active-in-house ministries.

Bishop Morton continues to lead the Greater St. Stephen Ministry to make major strides in growth and development, while remaining committed to the community and its people. He serves on numerous boards such as One Church One Addict, and is the president of the Paul S. Morton, Sr. Scholarship Foundation and president of the Paul S. Morton Bible College and School of Ministry. He is an honorary councilmember and has laid hands on and prayed for the mayor, the governor, members of congress and the President of the United States.

Forming the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, a movement to lead and teach the people of God, particularly Baptist people, how to operate in the fullness of the Holy Spirit, yet remain on the same foundation which is Jesus Christ has become yet another major call on Bishop Morton's life. In March of 1993, he was consecrated to the office of International Presiding Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, Inc. Today, that organization leads more than 2,000 churches, 10,000 leaders and millions of constituents throughout the world.
