ad:tech's 10th Annual Awards Move West: Relocated and Revitalized Awards Program Debuts The Executive Panel of Judges and the People's Choic
San Francisco, CA (PRWeb) January 23, 2007 -- ad:tech expositions, LLC (www.ad-tech.com), the leading organizer of conferences and exhibitions for the interactive marketing community worldwide, will recognize the current leaders and future stars of interactive marketing at the 10th Annual ad:tech Awards on Wednesday, April 25, 2007. For more than a decade, ad:tech has recognized the talented designers and strategic thinkers who have demonstrated excellence in interactive marketing. This year's Annual Award Program gleans ingenuity and originality from the new host city of San Francisco. Coinciding with ad:tech's Connect LIVE! party, the awards will also incorporate two new features -- The Executive Panel of Judges and the People's Choice Award (PCA) -- to more accurately recognize the most impactful advances in the field, from campaign to execution. In addition, ad:tech will debut the Industry Achievement Awards, which will recognize three long-time industry contributors who have grown and shaped the industry year after year.
The Executive Panel of Judges consists of 15 hand-selected judges who offer their industry insights and knowledge to evaluate the winners in each category and select the Best of Show winner, and the PCA lets the community at large recognize and vote for entrants in specific categories. Ten categories will award two PCA winners; one selected by the judges and another by peers.
"The most significant shifts in our industry of late have been driven by the democratization of the Internet, so soliciting peer input for certain categories of awards is a natural progression," said Don Knox, VP, ad:tech expositions. "ad:tech is now bigger than ever, and we're thrilled to be celebrating this 10th annual event in San Francisco -- our biggest venue where we can also host the annual Connect LIVE! party to really celebrate excellence in online promotion and advertising."
The awards recognize the best in interactive marketing, where creative ideas intersect with measured efficacy to create high-tech, high-touch marketing - from banner ads to Web sites to full campaigns. Candidates are both large and small companies; promote a broad range of industries; target various audiences and employ different technologies and means of communication.
"Working with the Executive Panel of Judges lets some of our most esteemed colleagues play an even larger active role in helping us set the bar for the best in interactive marketing," said Drew Ianni, ad:tech chair of programming. "We'll also recognize those who inspire the industry with the first award of its kind. The Achievement award will honor long-term dedication and consistent outstanding service of three individuals to online marketing, and we proudly take this opportunity to recognize their excellence and thank them for being an inspiration."

More than 130 judges from the industry's most revered companies and brands will convene to review submissions. Judging is based on creativity and results, and will happen in rounds. Finalists will be determined by judges in each category, and winners will be determined based on highest scores. In the case of a tie within finalists, the panel of 15 Executive Judges will break the tie and will vote for the overall Best of Show. The Executive Judges include leaders from top companies, media outlets and industry organizations, including: Yahoo!, iMedia Connection, AKQA, the Coca-Cola Company, Walt Disney Internet Group/Disney Online, Market Watch from Dow Jones, the Advertising Research Foundation, Mobile Marketing Association and, Fast Company, Inc.
In addition to the full panel of judges and the esteemed Executive Panel, the PCA launch this year, letting public voters select their favorite campaign from a list of finalists (predetermined by the judges). Each voter will cast his or her vote online, which will then be tallied by the ad:tech awards team.
The finalists and winners of the 10th Annual ad:tech Awards will be announced to the public Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Each finalist will command the spot light as ad:tech announces the winners at this modern ceremony with an interactive flair. The ceremony coincides with the Connect LIVE! party at ad:tech San Francisco. In true ad:tech fashion, this celebration is going to be over the top with video, DJ, a world-renowned acrobat troupe and lots of glass raising to the award winners.
The ad:tech Awards are sponsored by AdvertisingAge, Fast Company, Inc. and Forbes -- with additional sponsorship opportunities available.
